Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only shoot in your studio? No!  There is an advantage to working in my studio because we can shoot both formal portraits, maintaining control of the backdrops and lighting, AND, outdoors scenes in one session.  However, I am happy to meet you at a park or other public location that you have selected.  I keep a log of interesting outdoor locations for different types of shoots and am happy to share, if you need some suggestions.

When do we see our pictures? You will have the online gallery ready within 2-3 days.  Rush editing is available.

How does the proofing gallery work? It’s a secure, private, password protected collection of all of your baby/children/ family  photos hosted on the web. Once the photos are ready I will send you the link to your gallery so that you can share it with family and friends, if you choose.  You and only you will have control over who sees your pictures. You can also order prints directly using your online gallery.

How do we hire you? It's simple; just call. 859.512.7298  (Be sure to leave a message with phone number in case I'm on a shoot!)  I find we can accomplish a lot very quickly in one phone call.  We'll discuss the date, location of the shoot, and I can answer any questions about what to wear, etc.  At this time, I do not require a deposit.  The photography fee is due on the day of the shoot (Cash or Check only).

How many pictures do you deliver? The number of pictures I take during your shoot depends on many factors: type of shoot, number of subjects and number of poses, among others. On average, I take between 200 and 400 images in 90 minutes to two hours. You will receive between 30 and 70 (possibly more) fully edited photographs.

Do you take formal portraits?  Yes.  My goal is always to please you.  I do that by making you look your very best.  I shoot both posed/formal pictures, and informal shots, capturing you, and/or your children, in the most natural and spontaneous moments possible.  I set the stage, and then, let the fun begin . . . intimate and true images happen.  I will pose or "prop" the newborns and still look for the unexpected spontaneous expression.

Talking about poses… You need to nothing but show up.  However, if you want, I will ask you to look around or talk with your friends (Instagram, Google, Pinterest) for images that you like.  If you find them in advance, you can send them to me.  Or, just bring them to the shoot.
